Adopting a series of key principles in a variety of life areas which can lead to high levels of well-being and satisfaction,
Help you create a sense of connection and meaning in your life, resulting in an inspired life,
and so much more….
Mindfulness
In order to cope with all this information, we need to slow down and take stock. If we rush about at a vast pace, either physically, mentally, emotionally or even spiritually, we will hit a breakdown point. Now more than ever, we need to become aware of all that we do. We need to learn how to be present in this moment rather than rushing on to the next great plan, or inspiration that we might have. We are ‘human beings’ not ‘human doings’. The clue is in the name!
This course simply encourages you to look at yourself first and see where you possibly need to change, become more mindful, relax, move more etc. You can then use these techniques on yourself each day. This course is aimed at everyone. Everyone can practice these techniques safely.
Breathing
It has been said that the Breath is the link between the body and the mind. Once the breath is under control and relaxed, then this in turn relaxes and calms the mind. This then also relaxes and releases tensions from the body.
When we hold our breath unintentionally, this causes stress and tension in the body. It also tenses us if our breathing is quick and panicky. The over energy or build up of energy in our body/head can then cause us to have stress and anxiety.
Or, if our breathing is sluggish and lacks fullness then this can cause us a drop-in mood, and after a period of time, possible low mood or depression (it can also cause us fatigue and tiredness).
Learning some breathing techniques can help your whole being when you need it most, but also helps to keep a health balanced mind every day.
Self-Hypnosis
Self-hypnosis can take you into a deeply relaxed state so that you can release any anger/stress, depression, anxiety etc., in this way. You remain in total control and will be fully aware of what you are thinking/doing.
Self-hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of mind which can be defined as a heightened state of focused concentration. With it, you can change your thinking, kick bad habits, and take control of the person you are—along with relaxation and destressing from everyday life. It's like meditation but also gives a deep relaxation, and results in a better you.
Meditation
No weird 'hippy' meditations here (though those can be nice too!). Here we teach you simple everyday meditations that can help you manage a variety of mental health symptoms such as anxiety and depression/low mood, or anger, as well as some for everyday issues such as wanting deal with unhelpful peopl
You may not be familiar with yoga or meditation, or mindfulness and perhaps find that meditation seems a little odd or scary and strange, and so the intention here is for you to learn and practice some simple meditations that well enhance your daily living experience.
Relaxation
You can now relax and learn more about relaxation. We have provided you will a variety of relaxation techniques and tips, that you can do yourself. It is never too early or too late to learn to relax, some may take longer than others – it all depends upon the person and their past conditioning/history/experiences.
Techniques include, progressive muscle relaxation, imagery and more...
All lesson modules have films, task sheets, and/or audios to help you with the practices.
All course content is designed for you to learn at your own pace and will no time limit. However, there is email help and support is also available if you need it. Sarah Swindlehurst/Mulliner is qualified in all these areas and techniques and will help you with any if required.
